AT USF - 2007-2008 (2.1 PPG, 0.8 RPG, 1.2 APG, 0.5 SPG): Made solid contributions for the Dons as a sophomore, establishing career-highs in most offensive and defensive categories... emerged as a solid shooter from long distance and ranked fourth on the team with 14 3-pointers on the year... scored a career-high nine points with two triples against Weber State (12/8/07)... scored six points with three boards in a season-high 24 minutes against Holy Cross (1/5/08)... dished out a career-high five assists against Sacramento State (11/17/07)... made two big free throws in the final seconds to seal USF's come-from-behind win at Pepperdine (2/2/08). He emerged as a solid shooter from long distance and shot 31% from three-point range while he played for the Green and Gold.Â
AT USF - 2006-2007 (1.1 PPG, 0.8 RPG, 0.3 APG, 0.3 SPG):Â Walk-on played 257 minutes averaging 8.9 in 29 games... saw increased action after injury to Armondo Surrat, averaging 14.4 minutes... scored a career-high five points at Saint Mary's (2/19/07) in a season-high 19 minutes... scored four points at Sacramento State (11/14/06) and against Santa Clara (1/22/07) in an 18 minute stint.
PREP CAREER: Captained Santa Margarita Catholic High School as a senior...averaged 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest... named First Team All-Serra League, first team CIF Southern Section and was nominated for McDonald's High School All-American... led the Eagles to consecutive league titles and CIF Southern Section Division III-AA championships as a sophomore and junior... team recorded a 23-3 record his senior season.
PERSONAL: Christian Hernandez was born in November of 1987 in San Juan Capistrano. Christian is Business Major. Hernandez came to USF out of Santa Margarita Catholic High School where he was team captain as a senior averaging 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists per contest. He was named First-Team All-Serra League, First-Team CIF Southern Section and was nominated for the McDonald's High School All-American award. He walked on at the Hilltop and over the course of his career he made solid contributions for the Dons.
