PREP CAREER: Finished seventh in the 400m at the Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Track and Field Championships in spring of 2011… personal best time in 400m is 50.1… fastest 800 time is 1:58… finished 18th at the HHSAA Cross Country State Championships in fall of 2010 as member of the State Title Kamehameha-Kapalama High School Team… named Second-Team All-State in cross country in 2010.

PERSONAL: Alexander Pomaikai Ortega… son of Armando and Puna Ortega… born in July of 1993… chose USF because, “USF is a beautiful campus in a wonderful city, the strength of the business program and the good things I heard about the track and field program.”… goal is to break 49.57 in the 400m and 1:56 in the 800m… interests include: body boarding, surfing, skateboarding and lifting weights… has one sister, Gaby… major is Business. Went to Kamehameha Schools, a native of Kaneohe, Hawaii.
