Doubles – Partnered with Romeo Jivraj in the back end of the season and went 4-6 overall… Notched victories against Pacific, Stanford, Gonzaga and Loyola Marymount. 

Singles — Led the team with a 10-5 record on the No. 2 and 3 courts… Registered a 4-2 conference record with defeats against Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Gonzaga, and San Diego… Named NorCal Men’s Open Play of the Year after defeating high-leveled opponents in the Fall.  

High School and Personal: MVP of High School Varsity Team...NorCal Junior Team Tennis player of the year...USTA NorCal Sportsmanship Award...member of the Bay Club Courtside Advanced 18U Team (2015, 2016)...Undefeated in Team Nationals in South Carolina (2016)...Bay Club Courtside 18U Advanced NorCal Sectional Champions (2015, 2016)...Bay Club Courtside 18U Advanced Gar Glenny Cup winners (2015, 2016)...hitting Partner for Dominika Cibulkova, Gabrine Muguruza, and Venus Williams...Green and White Award for Mathematics and Spanish...moved to California from Israel at age 11...majoring in Chemistry...son of Ofer and Inbal Ricklis...brother to Yuval (16) and Noga (13).

SAN FRANCISCO — The University of San Francisco's men's tennis team member, Nitzan Ricklis earned the Northern California Mens Open Player of the Year award voted by the NorCal board of directors, after showing a tremendous amounts of confidence and success playing against high-leveled matches this fall season as a Freshman.

Ricklis was the highlight of both the ITA Regional and the Bulldog Invitational this fall season. Ricklis defeated Pac-12 member Stanford in straight sets and was the only Don to advance in 32s after taking down Eastern Washington at the ITA Invite. Ricklis was crowned champion of the North Draw Singles at the Bulldog Invitational, after sweeping UC Davis, Azusa Pacific and University of Nevada, Reno in straight sets. 

"Nitzan is a hard worker and loves tennis. He has shown this all Fall and it's his positive attitude that pushes him daily in practice and matches to excel. He has a great impact on the team and this award is well deserved for his commitment to compete hard every match," said Head Coach Pablo Pires de Almeida.
