SAN FRANCISCO – Basketball has taken Raushan Gultekin all over the globe. Born in Turkey, she grew up in Lund, Sweden, attended Salt Lake Community College, and lettered twice for the Dons, graduating in 2017. A winner at every level, her teams went a combined 92-39 in her collegiate career.
Gultekin earned NJCAA Third Team All-American honors prior to transferring to the Hilltop at Salt Lake CC.

Gultekin has a tremendous voice and actually sang the national anthem on senior night her senior season. Her sister Maria is a professional player in Turkey and a member of the Swedish national team. Raushan and Maria created a skills camp in Lund. Her bond with her sister was formed due to their mutual interest in basketball and how Maria helped pave the way for Raushan to let basketball take her abroad.Â
2016-2017 - SENIOR (3.3 PPG, 2.0 RPG):Â Had her senior season cut short due to an elbow injury after playing just 10 games... registered career-highs in points (8), rebounds (5) and assists (6) against Western Carolina on Nov. 26... also scored seven points versus San Jose State on Dec. 6... swiped a career-best four steals in the season opener against Sacramento State. Â
2015-2016 - JUNIOR (1.6 PPG, 1.0 RPG): Compiled three assists in USF’s season-opener at North Texas ... scored her first points as a Don from the free throw line against Holy Names ... recorded five points on 2-for-3 shooting against North Dakota ... added four points and four assists in 20 minutes at Sacramento State on Nov. 28 ... added five assists with just one turnover against Nevada on Dec. 1 ... assisted on two plays in USF’s win over San Francisco State on Dec. 19 ... finished with five points and two rebounds at Pacific on Dec. 23 ... contributed three points and four rebounds at Loyola Marymount on Jan. 14 ... added eight points, three rebounds and three steals against Portland on Jan. 28 ... finished with two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 10 minutes against Pepperdine on Feb. 18 ... scored six points and added two assists against Loyola Marymount on Feb. 20 ... sang the National Anthem prior to USF’s Senior Day game and finished with four points from the floor on Feb. 25.
PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Played two seasons at Salt Lake CC, helping the Bruins to a 53-14 record … squad earned consecutive Scenic West Athletic Conference titles to reach the NJCAA National Tournament … named a NJCAA third team All-American … tied for first in steals in a season (98), stands in fifth in career steals (149) and fifth in single-season assists (145) at Salt Lake CC.
PREP/INTERNATIONAL CAREER: Competed in Sweden’s Damligen for EOS Lund … played for Sweden in the 2010 U16 European Championships.
PERSONAL: Majoring in Advertising at USF … daughter of Lema and Heybet Gultekin … one of eight children … sister, Maria, plays professional basketball in Turkey … born Jan. 21, 1994, in Lund, Sweden.
