General Capsule: Exceptional athlete... very versatile will see time at left and right side hitter spots this season... excellent work ethic... solid passer with good defensive skills.

At USF (2008). Originally from Slovakia, Ms. Bednarova played Division I Volleyball at University of San Francisco, where her team made the NCAA tournament in her senior year. She received the Scholar Athlete award all four years and the WCC All-Academic award. Graduated with Bachelors in Accounting and in Finance, works in Accounting in San Francisco. 

At USF (2007): Saw action in 23 matches and 49 games as a junior... played at outside hitter and also saw some action at opposite and middle blocker... established career bests in attack percentage (.206) and blocking (0.63)... averaged0.78 kills, 0.33 digs and 0.68 blocks per game... recorded a season-high six kills on .600 hitting against Boise State (9/8)...turned in best West Coast Conference match at Pepperdine (10/13),recording five kills with a season-high six digs... recorded five kills to go along with four digs against Idaho (9/7)... set a season-high with six blocks against Gonzaga (10/18).

At USF(2006): Showed progress during second season on the Hilltop... saw action in 21 matches as a sophomore... established career-bests in most offensive and defensive categories... recorded a season-high 11 kills with five blocks at Long Island (9/22)...added 10 kills, five digs and four blocks against Manitoba(9/16)... hit .455 with six kills on 11 swings at No. 21 Santa Clara (10/26)... set a career-high with three aces against St.Francis (9/23) to go along with seven kills, three digs and a block... registered five or more kills in five matches.

At USF (2005): Showed signs of developing into a strong outside presence for the Dons as a freshman... hammered 11 kills on.409 hitting to go along with three digs at Delaware (8/27)...turned in a career-high with 13 kills at Portland State (9/10)...recorded career-highs with three blocks against Fresno State (9/3)and nine digs against Evansville (9/10)... ranked fifth on the team in kills (1.85)... finished the season strong with seven kills and eight digs at UC Davis (11/22).

Club Career: Spent three seasons with Slavia UK (1997-2000)... played four years on Doprastav Bratislava Team (2000-2004)... also competed on the Pezinok VTC squad in 2004.

Personal: Zuzana Bednarova... goal for the season is to have a successful season and become an important part of the team... chose USF for the quality of the team and coaching staff and for the City of San Francisco... favorite quote is by Mahatma Gandhi, "Whatever the mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve"... favorite movie is Kate and Leopold... enjoys reading, music and dancing in her free time...parents are Marian and Zuzana Bednarova... born June 7, 1984 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Coach Doron on Bednarova: "Zuzana is a versatile player for us and can play both middle and outside. She played well during the spring. We expect her to contribute as she continues to develop as a senior."
