GENERAL CAPSULE - Power-hitting first baseman capable of big things in the lineup... solid defensive skills... one of the best team players... had a good fall... gained size and strength.

AT USF (2003): Showed moments of explosive offense for theDiamond Dons as a junior... earned West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors after propelling USF to a series victory against Loyola Marymount (3/21-23), batting .417 (5-12) with a double,home run and seven RBI, including a grand slam in game one... went4-for-5 with a double, grand slam and a career-high five RBI in win against Loyola Marymount (3/21)... pounded homers in three consecutive games (2/23-3/1)... hit .529 (9-17) with eight RBI in six games against the Lions... registered a 16-game hitting streak (2/22-3/22)... posted career-highs in RBI (27) and extra base hits(14).

AT USF (2002) - Offered consistency to the team, playing 52games and making 44 starts... slammed in 25 RBIs, fourth highest on the team... put together a slugging percentage of .355... tied for third on team in doubles (10)... on-base percentage was .333...

AT USF (2001) - Enjoyed a solid year for USF with good offensive production... recorded an 11-game hitting streak from 3/17 through 4/7... provided power to the lineup and ranked third on the team in home runs (6) and seventh in RBI (21)... blasted two-run home run in first collegiate game against BYU (2/5), finishing 2-for-3...turned in eight multi-hit games and produced seven multi-RBI contests... hit three-run blast in a win against Portland (4/8)...went 1-for-2 with a double and a run in USF's win at #1 Stanford (4/17).

OTHER BASEBALL EXPERIENCE - Spent summer of 2002 playing for the Fayetteville Swampdogs... played for the Denver Royals, leading the team in all offensive categories.

PREP CAREER - Solid all-around athlete at Heritage HighSchool... earned four varsity letters in baseball, three in football for the Eagles... launched 42 home runs in his prep career,while hitting at a .422 pace... was awarded the National Honor Society Academic Achievement Award... All-State during senior year... also received the Randy Cambell Award... four-time All-Conference member with the Eagles.

PERSONAL - Nicholas Alan Cirbo... goal for the season is to contribute in any way to help the team to its first conference title... most impressive person he's met is Greg Moore... favorite quote is "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right"...nicknames are Cirb or C-Bo... favorite movie is Braveheart; book is the Great Gatsby...father Dennis played baseball at Colorado and played professionally with the St. Louis Cardinals... parents are Dennis and Sandy Cirbo... born February 12, 1982 in Denver, CO.

GIARRATANO ON CIRBO - "Nick is starting to blossom into the type of player we had originally seen him as. He's worked hard at becoming a good first baseman and I think it will be a good year for him."
