2017 (JUNIOR): Started in 32 of the 43 games in which he appeared on the year… missed the final 10 games due to injury… hit .277 on the year with four home runs, 10 doubles and 23 RBIs… was hit by 14 pitches, which ties for eighth-most for a season in program history… led the team with a .509 slugging percentage… four home runs ranked third on the team… his .404 on base percentage ranked fifth on the team… tied for the team lead with two triples… went 7-for-12 in stolen base attempts… tied for the team lead (w/ Matt Sinatro) with six outfield assists… had a career day in a win over Sacramento State on Apr. 18 by going 4-for-5 with a grand slam, double and six RBIs… hit a walk-off grand slam against Loyola Marymount on Mar. 18… went 2-for-4 with a homer at No. 18 Coastal Carolina on Mar. 3… homered in a win over Cal on Apr. 25… drove in three runs with a pinch-hit triple against Portland on Apr. 14.

2016 SUMMER: Played with the Neptune Beach Pearl in the California Collegiate League... hit .306 in 27 games... had 12 extra base hits and three home runs... drove in 19 runs... was 4-for-6 in stolen base attempts... suffered an ankle injury that shortened his summer.

2016 (SOPHOMORE): Started 36 of the 44 games he played in... all of his starts but three (DH) were in right field... led the team with six home runs on the year, five of which came during WCC play... hit the first home run in the new Benedetti Diamond with a three-run shot in the bottom of the third vs. Gonzaga (Apr. 17)... hit .230 overall while driving in 18 runs... was 7-for-9 in stolen base attempts... had a season-high two hits on nine occasions... hit his first-career home run vs. Utah Valley (Feb. 24)... also homered at Pacific (Mar. 25), vs. Gonzaga (Apr. 17), vs. San Diego (Apr. 22) and twice at Portland (May 6 & 8)... drove in a season- and team-best four runs against San Diego (Apr. 22) when he went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored... stole a season-best two bases against San Jose State (Apr. 19)... hit five doubles and scored 17 runs.  

2015 (FRESHMAN AT MESA COMMUNITY COLLEGE): Earned first team All-ACCAC honors... started all 56 games... clubbed four home runs with 20 doubles... hit .345 and scored 45 runs while collecting 47 RBI.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letter winner for head coach Jim Nelson at Spanish Fork High School... named All-State and All-Region... threw a no-hitter and hit two home runs in the state semifinal game... was runner-up in the home run derby at the Hard 9 National Classic... played summer ball with the Mountain West Baseball Academy and Utah Blaze... named MVP of the MW Baseball Academy... was the Utah Prospects home run derby winner.

PERSONAL: Born Oct. 18, 1995 in Provo, Utah... parents are John and Andrea Bate... majoring in Business Administration... named to the Honor Roll in high school... participated in Peer Court and was an Eagle Scout... enjoys hunting, fishing, snowboarding, four wheeling, and hanging out with family and friends.
